VIP Visits and Kiwi lamb for dinner
The First Light team has been busy hosting the VIPs with Bill English, Mike Moore and Helen Clark all visiting the kiwi bach. Its fantastic to see the profile the competition has and just amazing to see this bastion of New Zealand firmly planted in Washington DC.
Early on in the competition the team is placed 9th (you can follow the standings here) but there is a long way to go - including hosting a dinner party for the team's neighbours as part of the 'home entertainment' competition and which features NZ lamb.
It seems the Washington weather is playing havoc with all the teams, particularly trying to control humity and a lack of sunshine reducing power generation - still, the weather will be what it will be and the First Light team are right in there.
The job for our S&T man on the ground, Michael Warwick we think is done - having helped to get the team to the starting line with electrical engineering advice and assistance.
May the culinary skills of the First Light team shine brightly!
