Lessons from the Empire State Building’s Retrofit
Yesterday a number of S&T team members attended the Green Property Summit in Auckland (for which S&T were sponsors). The Green Property Summit is New Zealand’s foremost green building event. This year speakers included Anthony Malkin – owner of the Empire State Building - as well as other forward-thinking academics, practitioners and investors.
Malkin’s address described how the Empire State Building’s retrofit was a learning exercise, but one which will save 38 percent of the building’s energy and US$4.4 million annually. To learn more you can visit their website.
