Snow! (and a First Light House update)
The week started with snow! The snow started as my family and I headed home, after 15 minutes so much had fallen that we couldn’t drive up the last hill. We abandoned the car and walked the last km. My kids thought the snow was very exciting, staying home with school cancelled, playing in the snow and making snowmen. I enjoyed the novelty of walking to and from the bus stop each day through the snow.
On another note, yesterday I attended the unveiling of a plaque honouring the First Light House and its sponsors (S&T included). Anna Farrow from the First Light team and Tim Lusk, CEO of Meridian, spoke at the event. The plaque is mounted in the atrium of the Victoria University School of Architecture and Design.
There was real excitement as the team look forward to the completion of the project in Washington, D.C.. The house is now in the USA and appears to have arrived safely and the first of the team go over next week. I’lI join them in three weeks for the on-site construction.
