Upper Hutt College Gym a Success

Earlier in the week I went along to Upper Hutt College’s new entrant enrolment evening.

With S&T having just completed their new Sports Centre and our next stage of work being underway, I was interested in any feedback on the new facilities and I was pleasantly surprised with what I heard.

While being guided around the various classrooms by a group of year 13 students they repeatedly extolled the virtues of the new sports centre and described with some pride how even after 6 weeks it had become an integral part of the school culture and had created a sense of ownership and desire to excel in their sporting achievements.

I guess the comment that summed it up best came from the PE teacher “The new facilities have been so well received and the kids are so inspired they turn up early for class and for kids these days that’s saying something”.

Inspirational environment created. Well done!
