S&T achieved success in the latest Metropolitan Glass Awards
86 Customhouse Quay - New glazed Entrance
The jury's statement read as follows:
"A simple but skilful insertion of a modern glass screen that reinforces the existing architecture. The wonderful barrel vaulted form of the existing building is returned to its splendour.
The lightness and transparency of the new glass screen blurs the boundary between the interior and exterior spaces. This invites the viewer to enter the building and enjoy its qualities.
The technological detail of the stainless steel spider and cable system is juxtaposed against the neo classical detailing of the existing building creating a delightful tension between new and old."
