lex's background includes the design and delivery of various projects whilst an Associate Partner with Building Design Partnership, in Manchester, UK until 1992, then as the Principal of Design Network, Manchester, UK until Decemer 2002. Within these practices, Alex has been responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams from project inception through to completion on a wide range of public and private building types.
He joined Stephenson&Turner in February 2003, specifically as Project Architect, based on site, for the Northland Region Corrections Facility, a green-field site project to provide a new campus style corrections facility, with completion in 2005. This project commenced on site under a traditional contract structure, but has been completed under a collaborative working arrangement (CWA) including the contractor as a CWA partner, and Alex central to that arrangement.
Alex is an experienced, enthusiastic and highly committed architect with proven leadership qualities and project management skills, able to manage multi-disciplinary design teams and liaise with other professionals to ensure client expectations are met.
