Catholic Schools Expansion programme

S&T are currently delivering the Catholic Schools Expansion Programme across nine sites in the lower North Island. A $2.5m project, involving 5 consenting authorities; it requires the design, consent, fabrication and installation of a variety of classrooms and resource rooms within a 5 month period. It has required developing and managing a mutual working relationship, with the ability to share drawings, information and CAD models with three other consultants.

A number of innovative ideas have been developed between all the parties, necessary to deliver the amount of required works in such short time frames. Innovations have included the modular design and prefabrication of the units – allowing almost complete units to be delivered to site with a minimal amount of on-site work, and huge time savings in the consenting process whereby the units are inspected and gain consent with the TA in which the factory resides.
