Maven, ESR and Stephenson&Turner have teamed together in a consortium to market New Zealand’s world-leading expertise to the world in forensic science. ESR are recognised as world leaders in forensic science, with the best record for DNA matching. They are fully accredited to ASCLD/LAB and ISO17025 and work in a state of the art forensic laboratory facility designed by S&T.

Together with Maven’s experience in marketing and managing overseas projects we have been in discussions with several countries about providing them with the same class of facility. We are currently in the feasibility phase with the Qatar Police on their new facility, while retaining their fully-functioning existing building. It is an exciting prospect particularly with their strong commitment to sustainability. High levels of communication and management are required to work successfully with a different country and culture.

A thorough understanding of forensic science is essential. It varies from the physical aspect such as matching footprints, ballistics document fraud through to DNA facilities which require extremely high levels of containment. The facility must be designed so all evidence can be investigated separately so as there is no possibility of cross-contamination.
