Baycorp Advantage House Lobby Refurbishment, Auckland
In 2004 Stephenson&Turner was approached by AMP Capital Investors to redesign the lobby and front entrance of Baycorp Advantage House.
The brief was to modernise and convert the building’s tired and gloomy lobby into a space that would better reflect the image of the building’s predominantly marketing and media orientated tenants.
S&T’s response was to open up the front of the lobby to the street with twin frameless glass sliding doors, allowing natural light to penetrate the space. A pallette of light-coloured materials was used throughout to maximise reflected light. The new structural steel and translucent glass canopy was also designed to allow maximum daylight into the lobby.
