Stephenson&Turner Office Fitout, Auckland

One of the primary objectives of this project was to create an open and welcoming environment and to provide a variety of meeting places, ranging from enclosed formal meeting rooms to open studio areas for more informal workshops.

The office is located on a prominent corner and takes full advantage of the site's expansive view. A glass screen with graphic imagery filters varying levels of light, creating an ever-changing backdrop to the space. The concept of transparency is further echoed by the fracturing of the ceiling plane into floating white panels, exposing the services and concrete floor structure above. The solid cast in-situ lift shaft is also exposed to its raw state, providing a strong contrast to the surrounding translucent glass elements.

The entire working area is open plan apart from the six semi-enclosed Directors' offices located along the eastern facade.

From initial briefing and concept design through to completion and commissioning, the architecture and building services design has been developed under the Australian Green Star Fitout Rating Tool.
