The Beehive Upgrade, Wellington
Stephenson&Turner's engineering team has designed replacement air-conditioning systems, upgraded lift systems and refurbished hydraulic services in Wellington's Beehive, part of an extensive renovation of the entire 1970s' building to bring it into the 21st century.
The air-conditioning had to be replaced in different stages in order to minimise disruptions for people working in the Beehive. New smoke control systems were retro-fitted to ensure that the building complies with the latest fire engineering standards.
