Hawera Community Hospital
Stephenson&Turner undertook the full commission for the development of a new community hospital in 1999, to meet the business plan and budget established by the Crown Health Enterprise for this rural township. A community mental health facility was included in the outpatient component of the hospital.
The "design-build" approach to this new community hospital creates a modern, efficient facility for people in the Hawera area.
The hospital integrates primary, secondary and basic tertiary healthcare, with facilities for outpatients and inpatients, including maternity, emergency department and allied health and community services. It also incorporates X-ray and laboratory units.
