O'Rorke Hall of Residence, Auckland
A competition-winning scheme to develop the O'Rorke Hall site included a 14-level hostel plus dining and recreational facilities for 365 students, associated with a twin-tower commercial office complex.
O'Rorke Hall has a richly modelled precast concrete facade using gables, towers, chimneys and balconies to express its residential character. The office complex has similar elements in a more commercial style to create a unified composition.
